She didn’t win, but following her path to the pageant was fun and seeing her on TV, just like millions of others did, made us proud.
I’m honored to share with you an interview I did recently with Nikki! In it, she shares her path to Miss America, her thoughts on dealing with differences and interacting with others, and more. We had a really fun time and I’m excited to hear your thoughts about it!

What’s your favorite sport to play? I love to dance! I was a dance minor in college.
What’s your favorite candy/candy bar? TWIX!!!! I would eat one everyday if I had the money to invest!
What movie do you never get tired of watching? Is Miss Congeniality too cheesy of an answer? I have every line of that movie memorized. “…You doughnut nazi….”
What was your favorite cartoon as a kid? I am to this day a Pinky and the Brain fan.
What band/artist are you listening to right now? I am currently watching Dirty Dancing…so I have some Franky Valli playing within the background of the movie.
What was your favorite subject in school? Math! Scary to think its been 5 years since being in a math class and that that class was calculus. I’d never be able to do it now.
If you could be an animal, which would you be and why? A cat. Only ever sleeping and eating sounds like a plan to me.
Which super power would you want and why: Flight or invisibility? Flight!!!!!! As Miss Iowa I am constantly traveling so it would be convenient to be able to quickly fly to my destinations
What makes you laugh? Steve Martin. All day, every day. Steve Martin.
What’s one weird/hidden talent you have? I can turn myself into a human pretzel.
