I Asked My Kids What To Write About

June 12, 2012 — 4 Comments

I asked my kids what to write about and they all, in unison, shouted, “DRAW SOMETHING!”

“Draw what?” I asked.

“A guy with one arm!” Claire suggested.

“Yeah…YOU!” said Anna.

Sam kept playing the Wii.

So, they gathered around and watched as I drew what you see below.  They also suggested I include them.  And Captain America (the Wii game Sam was playing), but, “not mom.”  Also, Batman because “he’s way easier to draw than Iron Man.”  Probably true.

I also had to sharpen a pencil, which was a feat in and of itself.  We have one of those old-timey crank sharpeners.  I’ll tape it sometime.

I will sell this to you for $1,000. Or, like, $5.

I’d love any ideas you have for me to write about!  What would be helpful for you?  Otherwise I’ll just keep drawing pictures of myself.  And my kids.  And super heroes.

  1. I’m not asking IF you make your bed, but HOW you make your bed…as in, taking off the old sheets & putting on the new sheets.

Oh, it would be most helpful for us to watch if you could show us. Well, really, if you would just come & show us in person how you make a BUNK BED with one hand.

    : )
    Thanks!

  2. Hmmm . . . bedmaking is an interesting topic, since of the 4 in my house, I’m the only one who knows how to make a bed — and I’m not the one with one hand. I have tried. We don’t even use flat sheets — only the fitted sheet and a comforter. So Ryan, if you could help me get ANYONE in my house to make a bed, that would be fantastic!

  3. Oooh, pencil sharpening one-handed. Never been my favorite task. I went electric and never went back 😉

I Love your outlook on the little everyday things you write about,
Also it is these same things in life that matter the most, so dont miss a thing… It is in the simple things that make life what it is. It can be easy or hard only you can be the one to decide if you can do it. Keep writing and walking in love, Ladena

P.S. i will tell you about my driving test results on June 22nd. Wish me Luck and Pray
