I like to smell good.

Which is kind of a win-win situation for me and whoever is near me, right?

The other day Andy sent me a message, saying, “I’ve got a question for you…. As my son (LBE) is getting older (he’s 10), he’s needing to start wearing deodorant. How do you apply deodorant to your armpit?”

First of all, I LOVE THAT I GET QUESTIONS LIKE THESE. For real.

Secondly…watch this video to see how I do it. Parents, you especially will enjoy this.

What about you? Have you discovered any tips or tricks that have worked for you? Certain brands or types of deodorant that work better than others? Share your experience in the comments below!

  1. Stroke almost ten years ago. I have discovered gel deodorant works for me. First we all need to share idea’s because everyone is,different.right arm works not left. With gel can bend my arm up right pit is good. Then a little more gel out on left put with gel using right hand. Tried spray what O.T. Recommended. Didn’t work. Still can do right with a little contortion. Left. Propped arm up but sprayed my face. My life has become a series of challenges. Not trying has never been an option for me.

  2. Stroke a year ago and slowly learning to manage.
How do you manage with getting stuff into bags? Still trying to figure that one out! I thought of getting reusable totes that stand open, but I’m wondering which anyone found that work.
My most recent innovation is using clothespins to keep my books open to the correct page. If you use ones that are just right, they should allow you to keep sliding in one more page at a time.

  3. Hello. I have hemi dystonia which is very similar to a stroke. My left arm and hands are basically useless and I am so glad that I found this website that helped me figure out how to put deodorant on . As goofy as that sounds it’s very important. Thank you so much and I found that all your other tips have helped so much. Thanks again, Autumn Bluege

I half a stroke a couple of months ago.I’ve given up on one handed shoe tying, but applying deodorant is a thing I can’t do without. I’ve figured out how to keep my laces from dragging the floor so I won’t trip over them. However, I have not found a device for sale that can be used as an extension tool. If anyone has, pass on that information or at least patent or trade mark your idea. Hence, the reason I’m considering how much of a market there maybe for such a tool. Flexibility, so far seems to be the only way to solve the problem.
